Our organization of women, Dollies Making A Difference (DMAD), is beginning to be noticed by persons from other worthwhile organizations who seek to make presentations to us and ask for our support to further their own good work. A group of informed women (us!) gathered around a dining room table in one location makes a perfect place for a candidate or charitable CEO to make an appeal!
Mike Talleda, CEO of Wounded Heroes of America, paid us a visit along with several veterans. We were presented with a beautiful plaque thanking us for our support of their 2012 Christmas Toy Drive. Â He shared with us the challenges the wounded veterans face when they return home from the battlefield, and appealed to us for support for their upcoming 7th Annual Golf Tournament at Brookside Golf Club (Pasadena) on Thursday, May 9th. Candidate for LA City Council Frederick (Freddy) Sutton spoke to our group last week about his ideas on how to improve the lives of those of us who live on the westside of Los Angeles. The election is Tuesday, March 5, and as a first time candidate in a political race, he is hoping to gather enough votes to win (obviously every candidate’s goal!) or more realistically to put the race into a run-off where he has more time to get his name and ideas out to the public (if any one candidate does not get 51% of the vote, a run-off will be held.) For more information on this enthusiastic young candidate visit:  www.FrederickSutton.com
NOTE:  DMAD as an organization does not lend our  support to any political candidate …we are all individuals and we vote accordingly!
