Serving as a Dollie Ambassador from a child’s perspective

Andrea (with pigtails on the right!) may be our youngest Dollie Ambassador to date!  In her own words, Andrea shares with us her story:

“My name is Andrea and I am 11 years old.  I went to Costa Rica to give Dollies from Dollies Making A Difference to orphanages.  This was my first time giving Dollies.

My mom, dad, and sister went with me to the orphanages.

We went to two orphanages.  This photo was taken at the second orphanage visit in Santa Ana where we gave Dollies to older kids.

At the first orphanage, I met a girl Vivi, who is a toddler.  She was very bright and also very happy to get her Dollies.  I also met a baby boy that absolutely loved cuddling with his Teddy.

When I handed out my first Dollies, I felt like I wasn’t giving a Dollie.  I felt like I was giving them something that would give them joy.

I would love to be a Dollie Ambassador again!  It was so heartwarming to give Dollies to the kids that needed them the most.  It was so much fun, and I would do it a thousand times and it would never feel less heartwarming.

I think at some point, somewhere, someplace, everyone… It might be you… should feel the same joy I felt by giving kids something of their own.  And the thought that they will remember you and what you did for them.

What I’m trying to say, is that making them happy gives you the happiness nothing else ever could.
