Hearts with Hope, a Los Angeles humanitarian group of pediatric cardiologists from UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, dentists, nurses, and volunteers made a trip in July 2012 to San Salvador where they performed life saving surgeries on children with congenital heart diseases. Â The medical team also instructs local medical personnel in the treatment and care of these children, as well as provide much needed financial, educational, and emotional support to the families.
