Two time Dollie Ambassador Keara Jenkins was headed off to Jordan last February with the Wharton School Middle East Northern Africa Club.  When a last minute conflict interrupted her plans, she ended up with 40 Dollies and Teddy Bears in her college dorm room!  Not to be deterred, Keara worked with her University of Penn school advisor to find a recipient group in Philadelphia and found a perfect match!  Last week Keara paid a visit to St. Athanasius School, a Kindergarten – 8th grade catholic parish school in the West Oak Lane section of Northwest Philadelphia.  Built in 1928, the church and attached school have served the neighborhood for over 80 years.

Keara reports, “The Dollies and Teddy Bears were distributed to the Pre-Kinder and Kindergarten children.  They happened to be celebrating a dress down (no uniforms!) day so the Dollies added to the revelry!  During lunchtime, a few of the little girls fashioned their cubbies into bunks, and put their dollies ‘to bed’ inside them!”
