Dollie lady Sofia Pocasangre (center) was named a Blessed Sacrament 2015 Centennial Star Award Recipient.   Sofia was in good company at the Blessed Sacrament Gala, being honored alongside such luminaries such as Father Greg Boyle/Founder of Homeboy Industries, and world renown artist Carita Kent (an alumnae of Blessed Sacrament).
Sofia is no stranger to awards, having received Dollies Making A Difference’s 2011 Dollie Volunteer of the Year Award.
A party bus was rented to carry all the many Dollie ladies from the Palisades to Hollywood, where the church opened their gymnasium for cocktails, dinner, dancing, and awards.  Archbishop of Los Angeles Jose Gomez greeted everyone upon arrival.  Dollies Making A Difference (DMAD) created 35 Dollies and 35 Teddy Bears which were used as centerpieces at the tables.  After the event, guests were invited to take them home and hand them to a child who would love them. It was a wonderful, magical evening to remember.
Congratulations Sofia!
