As February approaches, we Dollie ladies set aside our stitching and stuffing and clear off our work table. Then we bring in all kinds of ribbons, stickers, ric rac, pipe cleaners, flowers, trim, paper hearts, and much more as we come together to create our one-of-a-kind Valentines. Sixty Valentines will be made with love for residents of the Apostolic Christian Skyline Seniors Home in Peoria, Illinois, and Dollie member Marsha Beaver will distribute these.  And then once again, we will be making extra-special Valentines for the young patients at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and the dogs from The UCLA People-Animal Connection (PAC) will be personally delivering them!
What fun we had making these Valentines; in the hope that our hard work will brighten someone’s day …“To Give is to Receive”. Â
We had a surprise visit from Tommy, a delightful volunteer dog from PAC.  He must have wanted to see exactly what this “Valentine delivery service” was all about.  He was a perfect gentleman, especially after all the fuss and attention we paid to him!
Special thanks to Rich Schmitt of the Palisadian Post, and Dollie lady Pat Bauer for these wonderful photos.
