April 13, 2012 Blog Post
An article appeared in the LA Times last week about the USC football team, but this time it wasn’t about an upcoming game.  The story was about Matt Barkley (QB) and 15+ other football players from USC who are planning a humanitarian visit in May 2012 to Haiti.  They will be working through the disaster relief volunteer organization Hope Force International “building homes, participating in food distribution, and delivering thousands of pounds of needed supplies and necessities to local schools and orphanages.”  Cindy and Donna put their thinking caps on to figure out how we could have Dollies Making A Difference partner with the USC football team’s visit.  Donna spoke with her friend Lori Nelson, who runs the USC Song Girls (the dance spirit team), who connected with Matt Barkley who said “Great idea, we’ll take ’em”!  The next morning  Donna and Cindy delivered to Lori 2 large duffle bags filled with 25 dollies, all wrapped up in cozy crocheted blankets, and 15 colorful teddys.  Thank you Donna for making this happen, and to Lori, a new Dollies Making A Difference Ambassador!
