Colorectal Team Overseas travels to Costa Rica

Colorectal Team Overseas (CTO) of Columbus, Ohio found Dollies Making A Difference (DMAD) through our website. They reached out to us asking to take Dollies and Teddy Bears with them on their medical mission trip to San Jose, Costa Rica.  Here is what they shared:

“Colorectal Team Overseas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating surgical teams in developing countries on the treatment of pediatric colorectal cases.  Our mission is to teach pediatric surgeons all over the world how to repair and care for children born with colorectal issues… so they can treat current and future patients on their own.  Our most recent trip was to the Hospital Nacional de Ninos in San Jose, Costa Rica.  Our team consisted of 7 pediatric surgeons, 2 anesthesiologist, 5 nurses and 3 volunteers.  Our surgical team performed 20 surgeries.

Our volunteers had the pleasure of distributing Dollies and Teddy Bears to the children awaiting surgery.  The smiles on the children’s faced warmed the hearts of our team and we can’t wait to be Dollie Ambassadors on future trips!”
