Samaritan’s Purse is an international Christian disaster relief organization which responds to crises throughout the world. Beginning in November, they launch Operation Christmas Child’s Shoebox Project.  Dedicated volunteers from school children to senior citizens pack a simple shoebox full of toys, hygiene items, hair bows, t-shirts, school supplies, stuffed animals and more, which are sent to children in need all over the world. These shoeboxes are collected during National Collection Week which this year is November 16-23.

Why not pack a few shoeboxes yourself? What a fun family activity!  Take a look at their website (www.samaritanspurse.org) to find the collection center closest to you.

A good friend to Dollies Making A Difference is Alicia, who each year asks us for a few Dollies and Teddy Bears for her Shoebox donation.  Alicia’s father is a treasured “Friend to Dollies”.  For many years he has tirelessly created beautiful and colorful crocheted blankets which we wrap around the Dollies as we send them on their way.
