Students the world over who choose to take a gap year between high school and college often spend their time traveling far from their home, learning and experiencing different cultures, customs, and languages.  Often they work with persons living in impoverished communities doing what they can to improve the living conditions there, such as building wells, constructing homes or outfitting schools.  One such volunteer youth organization is Outreach International (based in England), and the students participating in this program have taken our dollies and teddy bears with them on many of their travels.
Here is a photo I just received from one of the Outreach International students who works in a center for the disabled doing art therapy in Sri Lanka. She emailed me saying, “Not all of the residents are children, indeed most are adults. Â However I love the second photo! Â The dollies bring the same amount of joy!”
